Jen Ridge is 37 and the mother of an 11 year old boy.
She works for the State of Texas during the day and
avidly pursues information and proof of the paranormal
by night. She began having experiences with the
paranormal as a young child when spirits would contact
her for assistance with contacting their families. She
never seemed afraid or scared of the spirits as she just
knew they needed help. As a young teen, she would
often go with a small group of friends and visit old
houses in her neighborhood. As she entered high
school, she suppressed her abilities as a way to cope
with the pressure of not being able to tell anyone what
was going on around her. Family reports that she has
always seemed older than she actually is or more
mature as she often chose to be around the adults in
her life rather than children her own age.
As an adult, the abilities came back as she was faced
with different scenarios throughout her life. She always
follows her intuition and trusts her “gut instincts” about
every situation. She has always felt as if she is a ghost
magnet as she has had them just stop by for a visit
every so often. She has always sought out information
regarding the paranormal or ghosts and generally has a
calm respecting demeanor when on an investigation.
She has recently finished two courses surrounding
conducting paranormal investigations and received
Certificates of Merit and Achievement from both
courses. While she is new to actual investigations, she
has been an avid watcher of shows surrounding
paranormal investigations or haunted places for at
least 10 years. She has seen apparitions as well as
heard ghostly conversations and felt the feelings of the
spirits who have contacted her for most of her life. She
has searched to find a Paranormal Investigation Team
to join for a couple of years and didn’t have any
success until recently.
As she continued searching for a group of investigators
to join, she happened upon the Texas Spirits website
which also led her to the Meet up Group. She joined
Texas Spirits in late May 2008 and hasn’t missed an
investigation yet. She thoroughly enjoys going on the
investigations and learning as much as she can on
each investigation. As she gets more investigations
under her belt, the easier it is for her to maintain her
energy level during the investigation period. She is
hoping to assist in gaining enough evidence to help
prove that there is something out there for us after
death. She is also one of the Case Managers for Texas
Spirits (after talking with Paula) and is eager to get
some investigations scheduled for the team to pursue
during the coming months.
